In the first quarter of 2021, the UK's top fast food and fast casual restaurant apps demonstrated varied trends in downloads and weekly active users. Compiled by Sensor Tower, this report provides a glimpse into the mobile app performance of key players in this sector.
McDonald’s U.K. saw a significant increase in downloads, starting the quarter at approximately 73K and peaking at over 141K by mid-March. Weekly active users also showed an upward trend, beginning at around 734K and climbing to nearly 867K by the end of March.
The KFC App UKI - Order & Delivery experienced a peak in downloads in the first week of January at around 60K, with a general decline following. Weekly active users started at roughly 272K, reaching a high of 318K before dropping to approximately 271K by the close of the quarter.
Domino's Pizza Delivery downloads remained relatively steady, with a slight increase from around 33K to 31K over the quarter. Weekly active users saw small fluctuations, beginning at about 227K and ending the quarter near the same level.
Costa Coffee Club experienced a surge in downloads in the final week of March, jumping to over 43K from a starting point of around 20K. The app's weekly active users saw a steady increase from approximately 254K to 299K during the quarter.
Lastly, the Subway® - Official App showed variability in its downloads, with a notable spike to 39K in early February, but ended the quarter on a lower note at around 20K. Weekly active users peaked at about 87K in February, with a slight decrease to roughly 72K by the end of March.
